Drag 101

About Drag 101

Guess who's back in the house!

Drag 101 returns to The Gilchrist Postgraduate Club, Glasgow University on Tuesday 27th May 2025, starting at 7pm and full of draggy fun with our glamorous house queens, Dharma Geddon, Alana Duvey plus a selection of their drag chums.

Be sure to get your ticket(s) by selecting the ticket link above or here: www.glasgowunisrc.org

Featuring more drag shenanigans than you can shake a wig at, for example but not limited to, lip sync performances (a drag staple), live singing, comedy, drama, burlesque, cabaret, games and sometimes the downright unexpected and weird, and not forgetting a wee fun chat or two with all of Dharma and Alana's dated/niche references. All while continuing to break gender norms, experiment with gender and self expression through performance.

What better way to kick off Spring than by coming to Drag 101! So be sure select the 'Going' button on our Facebook event page and keep your eyes peeled there for the amazing guest performer announcement poster coming soon.

As always, Drag 101 is open to all, no matter your age, race, background, gender, sexuality, identity, pronouns, neurotype, abilities, body type, shape, size, hair colour, eye colour etc. you get the idea! You don't even need to be a student or a postgraduate at the university to come and enjoy the show.

We operate a welcoming, accessible, safe and relaxed space for all. The overall vibe of the show is nice and chilled, seated cafe vibes. PLUS you can purchase drinks at the bar and even a cheeky snack or two.

So whether you're a Rupaul's Drag Race, Boulet Brothers' Dragula, Queen of the Universe or even a Camp Wannakiki super fan; a local drag connoisseur or you've never heard of or seen a drag performer in your life, you will be welcomed with open arms and shown all the love here at Drag 101. Our only aim is that you'll leave having been thoroughly entertained.

What more could you want? Free entry? Well, we got that too! This is a completely free show to watch.

Advised to arrive early to guarantee a good seat! Please bear in mind that sometimes our shows can get pretty busy.

Although the show is free, a voluntary tip is always appreciated but this is not mandatory. Should you wish to tip, you can do so by sending your tip online before, during or after the show via PayPal at paypal.me/thedharmageddon. You can tip at the show, in person by putting cash in the tip bucket or by card with our fabby new card machine. Just see Dharma for card/contactless or Alana for cash at the end of the show.

Please only tip if you want to and have the funds to do so. We understand times are tough and not everyone can afford to. We will never force money from you. All we ask is you enjoy yourselves. However, if you do tip we can assure you that all tips will be split equally among all performers and stage hand.

*Small print/Important info*
Please note under 18's must be accompanied by an adult (said adult will need to purchase non-alcoholic drinks and snacks at the bar on their behalf).
If you are not a student at the university, don’t worry, you can still reserve a space by creating a 'guest account' once selected the ticket link.
Please be aware that this is a drag show so there may be the possibility of adult language, themes/content, slight nudity, flying items of clothing/costumes and props, a crowded space, audience participation, a photographer/videographer, bright/flashing lights and loud noises/music.
Types of performances may vary from those listed above, we can't guarantee if they will include these or not.
Guest performers vary per show, you may not see the same performers from a previous Drag 101 at this event. Watch out for Drag 101 posters here and in the venue nearer the time to see this month's lineup.
Last but not least, we also can't always predict there won't be content that may be a trigger to some but we'll always try our best to warn where possible. We apologise if we miss any. Our intention is never to offend, upset or cause harm to anyone.
